HIV AND AIDS AWARENESS CAMPAIGN
In a country where poverty, illiteracy and poor health are widespread, preventing the spread of HIV and AIDS presents an overwhelming challenge.
On behalf of the entire textile and apparel fraternity, The Helping Hands Education & Welfare Society (HH-EWS) has made a small beginning by way of initiating an HIV and AIDS awareness campaign – Prevent AIDS in the year 2012 and constituting Aids Awareness Day an annual event to be organized every year on 1 December to coincide with the World AIDS Day - with the objective of contributing the proverbial drop in the ocean - to support and promote HIV and AIDS Awareness.
The significance and relevance of this initiative can be very easily understood by considering the fact that the textile, apparel and retail industry segments are labor intensive and employ migrant labor in large numbers.
It is extremely important to address the HIV & AIDS issues at work-place, as it affects the most productive segment of labor. The epidemic is staring us in the eyes, & India has the third highest number of HIV infected people, in the world.

CHILDREN EDUCATION PROGRAM
The Education Program supports and strengthens government efforts to provide quality education by reducing gender and other social and economic disparities at the national and state levels.
To address this challenge, Save the children has adopted the strategy of facilitating the creation of ‘Inclusive Learner Friendly Environments’ targeted at 3-18 years within diverse educational settings to meet the challenge of addressing diverse and heterogeneous needs of children.
7 million children in India under 14 years do not have access to quality education and approximately 50% of all children drop out before they complete their elementary education. We are working to create quality, inclusive, learner-friendly environments for all children to ensure that the Right to Education Act, 2009 is implemented.
